Weekend away with my friends. I was walking around the resort alone while my friends played Dr. Mario, (a favorite past time of ours at this point). I stopped to sit on a ledge on the top floor of the resort to look out the window. It was a view of the Canyons ski resort. Really pretty, and completely void of people. It was very peaceful. I must have sat there for 30 minutes quietly thinking of what my mission will be like. I also thought of other trivial things that don't matter at all. Those trivial things started making me feel.. a little down. I started thinking about the Book of Mormon and how I should read something from it. I knew it would make me feel better. As I was thinking this, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was a book that was hidden behind a metal pole in the ground. Yup. A Book of Mormon. It kind of felt like a miracle. Sure I was in a hotel in Utah, but really what are the chances that at that exact moment I looked over and saw it when I had been sitting there for so long already. I picked it up, and it was bent and obviously uncared for. But it didn't matter. The sight of it only added to my testimony of God's individual love for us. I don't know who put it there or why. Maybe it was carelessly put there as a joke. It didn't matter. It was perfect. My heart could not be more grateful for these little moments that happen to reconfirm to me of Gods love and of His power. It might seem coincidental, but I know it's not. It was God reminding me that He is still here, that He has all power, that no matter whatever happens... He has my back. I could have looked up the scriptures on my phone, He knew I had access to them. But He also knew more than I knew myself, that I needed a reminder of what really was important. I put it back behind the metal pipe. Who knows, someone else might need it.
